Applications are invited for the post of a Junior Research Fellow (JRF) in a SERB (Science & Engineering Research Board) funded Project at School of Biotechnology, JNU. The selected candidate will be appointed purely on temporary basis, initially for one year as JRF that may be extended to another year based on the performance.

Age limit: 28 years on the date of application, with relaxation to SC/ST/OBC candidates as per Government of India norms.

Appointment will be purely on temporary basis for one year and co-terminus with the project. The eligible candidates may further be shortlisted based on qualifications/​experience depending on the number of applications received. Shortlisted candidates will be informed by email about the interview date and time.

Rs. 31,000 per month + HRA p.m. as per rules.

Candidate must have Masters degree (with minimum 60% marks or higher) in Plant Sciences/​Biotechnology/​Life Sciences/​Biochemistry/​bioinformatics with CSIR-UGC NET (Equivalent qualification/​fellowship) or fulfilling the guidelines of DBT/DST.

Desirable: Strong theoretical background on plant genetic engineering and research experience in the field of basic plant molecular biology & plant tissue culture in monocots is desirable. Consistently good academic record would be a plus.
